Lyceum Course - Basic Genealogy - Sample Pedigree
To see this tree on the internet, do the following steps:
- Go to WorldConnect (click on this link) World
Connect at RootsWeb
- If you already are familiar with WorldConnect, you can search for
your own family. The example given below is an exerise for the class.
- In entry form, enter:
- Surname: Mounts
- Leave option on Exact
- Given Name: Providence
- Spouse: Van Meter (with a space after "Van")
- Check the Fuzzy Search Option
- Click on Search
- Your browser will return a page with a table of entries, each of
which comes from someone who has submitted information which includes
all the men named "Providence Mounts" who married a woman with last
name Van Meter
- Find the data base labelled "bretney1" (as of the date this page
was created, it was the last entry).
- Click on the corresponding Providence Mounts II (not here, in the page just
returned)
- You will get a family group sheet for the family of Providence Mounts II
and wife Hanna Van Meter.
- Click on Providence III MOUNTS in the list of children.
(not here, in the page just returned) This will take you
to his own family group sheet.
- Click on Emily Wade MOUNTS in the list of children.
(not here, in the page just returned)
This will take you to her own family group sheet.
- Click on Pedigree (not here, in the page just
returned)
- You will see a "pedigree" for Emily Wade Mounts
as posted by Lesley Tadatada. Her e-mail is
given there as an image so you can contact her if you desire.
- Toward the top of the page is a link Display pedigree in text format
Use this to see the pedigree in another form.
- If you wish, experiment with other options, such as
Ahnentafel.
