Meeting Place - Vestal Rail Trail - East End

From Vestal Parkway take African Road North, then left into Navy Mall lot area, or continue to Old Vestal Road and enter additional rail trail parking at the SE corner of intersection.

To Destination

• Head west on Rail Trail
• At end jog Right then Left continuing to light at Vestal Avenue.
• Right onto Vestal Ave pass under RR tracks, cross bridge, continue to
• At T then Left on North Street to T at light
• Right at light onto NY26
• Possibly meeting others at Elks Club⁽¹⁾
• Vear Right following Old Nanticoke and begin climb.
• Straight at stop sign (traffic enters from right)
• At bottom of grade before a bridge Right on Edson/Edison
• Left at T on Pollard Hill Road
• Immediately cross bridge
• Right at T on NY26
• Stay on NY26 which vears slightly right to a stop at Maine Road (service station on left)
• Left on Ames
• Left at T onto Nanticoke
• After stop, Merge onto NY26 going south
• Continue into town.

Return to Start

• From restaurant Continue south on NY26
• Left on Pollard Hill Road
• Cross bridge then Right on Edson/Edison
• Left at T on Old Nanticoke
• Road curves right, continue Straight at stop
• At bottom of hill, Left at T on NY26
• Just after going under RR tracks, at light, Left on North St
• Right at light on Vestal Avenue
• Cross bridge, go under RR then Left to access Vestal Rail Trail
• Which is via a Right to parking and Left
• Rail Trail ends at African Road

• Note (1). Ride can be made shorter by starting at (or additional riders picked up at) the Elks Club on Nanticoke Avenue NY26 just before Old Nanticoke which vears off to the Right.

Colin runs the shoe repair shop on Front Street in Vestal, and has been very active in getting this trail up and running. Colin's shoe shop is a good spot to pick up the handout map and description of what is and what will be.

• Note (3). Map My Ride shows the climb starting much earlier than the steep section on Old Nanticoke which is obviously more than 1.1%.
